Tree Removal is a service that should be contracted by consumers very carefully. There are many qualifications a tree removal service company should have to remove trees. The most important tree removal qualifications are:
- A Fully Insured Company
- A Company Licensed to work in the state they are in
- A Tree Removal company in business for a lengthy period of time
- Climbers with over 10 years experience in large tree removals
- Climbers experienced working with a crane operator for large tree removals
- A Tree Removal company that has a staffed & certified crane operator who has over 10 years experience with large take downs
- The professional expertise and equipment to get the job done right
- Guardian Tree Co. has all of the above!
These are all very relevant and necessary requirements for a tree removal company to perform high quality and professional tree removal service. Guardian Tree Co. meets all the requirements above and then some. Guardian Tree has been built over the years around having what it takes to perform large tree removals. The company has top notch climbers to handle any given situation, an excellent crane operator and crane, and all the proper equipment to get the job done right.
Large trees that have grown in tight or limited spaces that pose a hazard upon its surroundings should be left to the professionals. So many of these trees are left untouched with the danger of falling on a house or structure. Usually a crane is needed under these circumstances, however, sometimes there is no room for one. When a crane cannot be used, the tree must be removed by a climber by roping it down in pieces.
Guardian Tree Co. has a long standing reputation for quality work, a quick response, and reasonable rates. Our tree company is always available for all of your tree care needs.
A tree Take Down is the Felling of a tree and leaving the debris where is lands or is guided for the customer to clean up and dispose of after Guardian Tree Co staff has left the property. Usually this type of service is provided to someone who is on a tight budget that has a hazardous tree or a customer that is skilled in groundswork but would rather not climb or bring down the tree themselves. The rate for this service is usually about a third less than the rate of a full tree removal.
Guardian Tree Company is always available to provide emergency tree service. Every year, a significant number of trees fall on houses, automobiles, buildings, structures, power lines, etc. Over the years our area has been subject to a variety of storms causing hazardous trees to fall and create significant damage. High winds, flooding, ice storms, premature snowfall are just a few natural occurrences in our area that can break tree limbs or topple large trees onto your property or even your home. It is a fact, hazardous weather conditions can cause trees to fall and create extremely dangerous situations. For this reason, dying trees that cannot be saved or dead trees in close proximity to residential properties should be removed before hazardous weather can potentially knock them down. Trees that are decayed, are dying, or already dead are more prone to fall during extreme weather conditions such as high winds. This is why customers who have potential hazardous trees should take preventative action to have them removed before a storm strikes.
In the event that you have a tree hazard, Guardian Tree Company specializes in these types of scenarios. With over 10 years experience in providing emergency tree service, Guardian Tree Co. has the resources and expertise to handle any type of tree removal. If a large tree is on your structure (home, car, etc.) contact our emergency phone number to have it removed. We specialize in assisting you during these hazardous conditions. Were available 24 hours per day, 7 days a week to help you with emergency tree removal and clean up.
Do you have a tree emergency that you need help with right now?
Just call our 24 hour number, (610) 333-3153 and you will be connected to the Supervisor on call. We can have an estimator at your home or place of business within 1-2 hours, and he can mobilize a tree removal crew on the spot. Our crane operators and tree care employees are experienced in the delicate job of removing a fallen tree without further damage to your property.
Once the tree is cut down, there is still the stump. It can take many years for a tree stump to rot. After it rots, there is a hole left where the stump was. A tree service can remove the stump with stump grinders. The lawn can be restored immediately without waiting for an unsightly stump to decay. Stump grinders can be rented, but the work of stump removal is hard, noisy, and dangerous. Using a tree service is a much easier way to go.
Tree Pruning classifications
Crown cleaning a trees canopy consists of pruning dead & diseased limbs, excess branches, and crossing or rubbing limbs out of the crown of a tree. Each tree may require more or less work depending on many factors such as proximity of tree to resources, tree location, and tree species. An arborist can assess a tree to determine the branches that should be trimmed.
Pruning Deadwood & Diseased Limbs
One of the most common and natural techniques of tree pruning, is pruning the deadwood out of a trees canopy. Pruning out the dead and diseased limbs from a tree is good for the health of the tree. Diseased limbs are cut so they cannot further affect the trees live branch structure, and deadwood is removed for safety reasons mostly.
Thinning out the interior crossing or rubbing limbs, and sucker growth is a common and acceptable practice. Thinning can help reduce wind resistance in a tree, thus reducing the chances of a wind storm blowing over a tree. It can also increase sunlight for your grass to grow. Tree Trimmers must be careful not to cut too much and form what is called a Lion Tail, where a limb has no foliage except on the very ends.
Elevating the lower limbs on a tree is necessary at times when limbs are encroaching on a structure, hang low over a sidewalk or road, or hang low over the grass, etc. Elevating a tree increases the clearance from the ground to the lowest remaining foliage by trimming up the lower branches. When elevating lower limbs on a tree, it is important to take a step back and see the entire tree, so the tree is balanced after the prune.
Shaping a tree is a method performed usually by pole clips or shears and involves trimming the entire canopy all the way around the circumference to form a nice round shape. This is often completed on Fichus, Little Leaf Linden, Bradford Pear, Holly, and mostly smaller sized trees. Keep in mind, when shaping a tree to gain a certain look for your landscape, it will require you to prune the tree more often, usually every couple years if not more.
Clearing Limbs Away from a Structure
Are the squirrels keeping you up at night, or are the branches rubbing against your house? Clearing tree limbs away from your house or structure is a very common task. The branches should be cut properly, back to the nearest lateral limb just outside the branch collar. Generally, clearing limbs away from a structure is completed by certain footage effective to clear the structure but at the same time not harming the tree and keeping its structural integrity.
Crown Reducing is a method of reducing a trees height and width by a certain percentage or footage. Crown Reduction is usually performed on a tree that is prevalent to storm damage, leaning toward a structure, or a tree that has outgrown the area it was planted in. Drop Crotch pruning is an acceptable method that results in a crown reduction by cutting the longest ‘terminal’ branch on a limb, and leaving the shorter ones on that same branch.

Topping is not performed by Guardian Tree Company. It is a practice often performed by inexperienced and careless tree workers. This type of trimming is very damaging to the health and structure of the tree and given the 50% chance that the tree will die after the damage is done your money is better spent once on an arborist than twice on a hack. In the event that the tree is healthy enough to survive such an attack, the tree will look very un-natural as well as open up many sores for insects and disease to set in. Drop crotch pruning is always recommended instead of topping and if the tree has outgrown its space where reductions are not practical then talk with our estimator about removal and replanting options. We've all seen the topped trees here in the Lehigh Valley, just think, would you want to see that everyday? ........JUST SAY NO TO TOPPING.
* Although Crown Reduction 'Drop Crotch Pruning' is an acceptable method of pruning, Guardian Tree promotes an annual or bi-annual maintenance regimen to keep the tree within a desired size after the intitial service is performed.
* Annual Maintenance Program available at a flat rate.
